Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

We build websites for a living, so it would be poor form if our own site were hard to use. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA across this website.

Accessibility is not a one-off task. This statement records where things actually stand, including the parts that are not finished.

What has been done

• Semantic HTML with proper headings, landmarks and one <main> region per page
• A skip-to-content link on every page
• Every page has one clear <h1> and a logical heading order
• Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements; focus outlines are never removed without a stronger replacement
• Full keyboard operation, including the mobile menu (Escape closes it and returns focus to the toggle)
• Text contrast meeting WCAG AA, verified programmatically across every page rather than assumed
• Touch targets of approximately 44px on interactive controls
• Form fields with correctly associated labels, helpful error messages, and status updates announced via aria-live
• Descriptive alt text on informative images; empty alt on decorative ones
• No information conveyed by colour alone
• Support for prefers-reduced-motion — animated signal lines and travelling pulses stop, and everything stays functional
• No horizontal scrolling at 320px width
• Meaningful content without JavaScript — navigation uses real links, not scripted routing

Known limitations

Being straight about the gaps rather than claiming full conformance:

• No formal audit has been carried out. Our checks have been automated and manual, not an independent accessibility audit. We have not been assessed by a third party.
• Screen reader testing has been limited. The markup follows accessible patterns, but the site has not been tested end to end with JAWS, NVDA or VoiceOver by someone who uses them daily.
• Decorative animation. The orange signal-line graphics animate by default. They respect reduced-motion settings, but there is no separate on-page control to disable them.
• Third-party content. Our contact form is processed by a third-party service. We do not control its accessibility.

We would rather list these honestly than claim a level of conformance we have not verified.
